Reducing people of color to a musical number scene without billing, grotesque stereotypes that lingered well into the twenty first century, and a representative few in the production of motion pictures; these issues of marginality continue to be the focus of discussion among members of the movie industry.
One bright spot from this cultural slumber... composers of movie scores continue to celebrate a rich diversity of society with vibrant and fairly accurate celebrations of sound by way of lyrics and arrangements. Music remains the great equalizer!
