During Hollywood's Golden Age, studio moguls often acquired the rights to create productions direct from Broadway. At times, however, a musical was developed direct to celluloid. The Wizard of Oz, Singing in the Rain and White Christmas are great examples of these productions. Truth be told, movie musicals were actually created at the advent of sound in cinema, beginning with The Jazz Singer in 1927. The result from today's chronicle is great songs from wonderful films that traverse the entire Studio Era!
